To St. Lawrence University Students and Parents:
With the current level of education costs, we have had a concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave St. Lawrence University before the semester is completed. In many instances, it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of the semester's costs.

We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP), which will minimize the financial portion of the loss. This elective insurance plan provides coverage for tuition, room, board and activity fee charges. Accordingly, the costs insured for the 2013/2014 academic year are $57,890.

This Plan significantly extends and enhances the University's published refund policy, which is described in the St. Lawrence University catalog. If a student withdraws because of a personal illness or accident, the Plan returns up to 100% of the insured term tuition, fees, room and board. If a student withdraws because of a mental health condition, the Plan returns up to 60% of the insured term tuition, fees, room and board.

We are providing the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents. It is an inexpensive form of protection and we urge that you carefully read the coverage section and consider the advantages. To enroll online, simply complete the application and submit payment. Payment is due before the student commences classes. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after the first day of classes. If you have any questions, please call Dewar directly at (617) 774-1555.

Sincerely,
