| To Our Students and Parents:
|
With the current level of education costs, we have had a concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave Salve Regina University before the semester is completed. In many instances, it means not only the loss of time invested in studies but also the loss of the semester's costs.
We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.), which will minimize the financial portion of the loss. This elective insurance plan provides coverage for tuition, fees, room and board charges. Accordingly, the costs insured for the 2013/2014 academic year are $47,250.
This Plan significantly extends and enhances the University's published refund policy. You are assured of a 100% refund throughout the term even after the University's own refund policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. In effect, you will not have to pay to repeat lost education. The chart below illustrates how the T.R.P. complements our own refund schedule for tuition charges. |
| | | If the Withdrawal Occurs During: | University Refunds: | The T.R.P. Refunds: | Student Receives: | | Before Classes Begin | 100% | 0% | 100% | | Before the Second Week | 80% | 20% | 100% | | Before the Third Week | 60% | 40% | 100% | | Before the Fourth Week | 40% | 60% | 100% | | Before the Fifth Week | 25% | 75% | 100% | | Balance of Semester | 0% | 100% | 100% |

Enrollment in this protective insurance program is voluntary. The premium cost for the Fall Semester appears in the application section. Simply check the Comprehensive Fee desired and submit your application by the first day of class. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after this day. Those electing coverage for the Fall Semester will be automatically billed in December for the Spring Semester insurance premium.
In light of our enrollment policy, we enthusiastically endorse the Plan and invite you to consider carefully its benefits.
Sincerely yours,
William B. Hall
