Re: Supplemental Statement for Elective Tuition Refund Plan

Dear Cornell Students:
We are pleased to present details about the elective Tuition Refund Plan. The Plan benefit for 2014-2015 will cover up to 90% of your tuition charges in the event of withdrawal from the University due to a covered illness or accident. Details of the plan, including conditions of coverage and restrictions, are provided on the Coverage page. Please read it carefully.

The Plan may provide significant financial assistance to you and your family should you need to withdraw for a covered medical reason. This policy is optional. You are not obligated to purchase the policy, however we recommend your careful consideration of this coverage.

Special information for Cornell grant/scholarship aid recipients: Cornell grant and/or scholarship aid funds are applied to tuition charges first. Students who enroll in the Plan and who withdraw for covered medical reasons will have their Cornell grant/scholarship aid reduced to the extent that such aid was originally applied to their tuition charges. This can result in a partial to full reinstatement of the studentís tuition charges. The Plan will cover such reinstated tuition charges provided the student otherwise meets Plan restrictions and requirements.

If you elect this coverage, please go to the Application page to register.

Application for coverage must be processed before the first day of classes, August 26, 2014. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after this date. If you have any questions regarding this policy please email Dewar directly at trp@dewarinsurance.com or call them at 617-774-1555.

Sincerely,

Peter E. Olcott
