The University of the South

To Our Students and Parents:
With the level of education costs, we have had a concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave The University of the South before a semester is completed. In many instances it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of the semester's costs.

We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP), which will minimize the financial portion of the loss. This elective insurance plan provides coverage for Tuition, Room, Board and Fees. Accordingly, the average cost insured for the 2013-2014 academic year is $44,610.

This Plan significantly extends and enhances the University's published refund policy. You are assured of up to a 100% refund throughout the term even after the University's own refund policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. In effect, you will not have to pay to repeat lost education.

Please refer to the Refunds section of the official catalogue for a complete description of the refund policy. For mental health withdrawals the TRP pays 60% of costs insured.

We are providing the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents. It is an inexpensive form of protection, and we urge that you carefully read the coverage section and consider the advantages. It is vital that those who wish to participate online submit the application before the opening date of the Fall Semester. Applications cannot be accepted on or after this date. If you have questions about the Tuition Refund Plan, please contact Andrew Martinson with A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at (617) 774-1555.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Ingle
