Dear Parents and Students:
|
We would like to advise you that Bryn Mawr College is making available to its undergraduate students the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP), an optional insurance program offered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc.
The Plan is intended to minimize the financial loss which may occur when a student must withdraw from the College for medical reasons. The Plan complements Bryn Mawr's current refund policies for comprehensive fees, providing assurance throughout the semester of a minimum of 75% refund of insured costs for withdrawal due to physical illness, injury, or mental health condition.
Bryn Mawr College's refund policy is in compliance with federal regulations and is detailed in the Undergraduate College Catalogue. It is based on the percentage of time in attendance in the enrollment period. The following chart illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan works with the College's refund schedule for tuition and College fee. |
| Coverage Schedule | | If the Withdrawal Occurs: | College Refunds: | The TRP Refunds: | The Student Receives: | | During first week | 95% | 0% | 95% | | During second week | 90% | 0% | 90% | | During third week | 85% | 0% | 85% | | During fourth week | 80% | 0% | 80% | | During fifth week | 75% | 0% | 75% | | During sixth week | 70% | 5% | 75% | | During seventh week | 65% | 10% | 75% | | During eighth week | 60% | 15% | 75% | | After eighth week | 0% | 75% | 75% |
|
We encourage you to read the coverage section carefully to determine the Plan's suitability to your needs. If you have any questions about the Tuition Refund Plan, please contact Mr. Dana Tufts at A.W.G. Dewar (617) 774-1555.
Should you decide to enroll in the Plan online, please submit the application and premium before the opening day of classes, which is September 4, 2012. Applications cannot be accepted on or after this date.
Sincerely,
Ethel M. Desmarais Director |
