Dear American University Students and Parents,
We are pleased to inform you that American University has arranged with A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. to offer the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP). This plan will help minimize the financial portion of losses incurred if a student suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave American University before the semester is completed. This insurance plan is elective. Costs covered by the TRP include tuition and room charges.

The Tuition Refund Plan is a private insurance program that enhances American University's published refund policy. Subscribers are assured a refund, even though the University's own refund policy may have expired at the time of withdrawal. Under the TRP you are assured of a maximum 75% tution refund throughout the term for a medical/psychological withdrawal.

We are pleased to make the Tuition Refund Plan from A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. available as an option for students and parents. American University receives no compensation for this program. Those who wish to participate online should submit the application and premium before the 1st day of Fall classes. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after the 1st day of classes.
