| We are pleased to inform you that American University has arranged with A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. to offer the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP). This plan will help minimize the financial portion of losses incurred if you suffer a serious illness or accident and have to leave American University before the semester is completed. This insurance plan is elective and covers your tuition costs. The Tuition Refund Plan is a private insurance program that enhances American University's published refund policy. Subscribers are assured a refund, even though the University's own refund policy may have expired at the time of withdrawal. Under the TRP you are assured of a maximum 75% tution refund throughout the term for a medical/psychological withdrawal. The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan complements our refund schedule for tuition charges: |

| We are pleased to make the Tuition Refund Plan from A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. available as an option for students and parents. American University receives no compensation for this program. Those who wish to participate online should submit the application and premium before the 1st day of Fall classes. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after the 1st day of classes.
