Dear St. Olaf Student and Parents:

I would like to bring to your attention a Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.) that will be offered to St. Olaf students by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. This is a private insurance program that supplements St. Olaf's refund policy. If, due to illness or accident, a student takes a leave of absence or withdraws after the beginning of the fall or spring semester, this program ensures a refund of at least 75 % of tuition and applicable room and board charges. The insured costs for the 2012-2013 academic year are $48,650 for a student living on campus.

The chart below indicates how this program supplements the College's own refund schedule for a semester's charges should a student withdraw due to illness or accident.

Participation in the Tuition Refund Plan offered by A.W.G. Dewar is entirely optional, and the College's refund policies are applicable whether or not you enroll in the T.R.P.  St. Olaf College does not endorse this or any other private tuition insurance program, but we urge you to read the coverage section and consider the suitability of the T.R.P. for you. Should you decide to participate online in the Dewar Plan, you must submit the application and payment before the opening day of classes, September 6, 2012. Applications cannot be accepted on or after that date.
