Dear Parents and Students:

Baylor University is pleased to offer an optional service that helps protect the student from financial loss in the event of an unexpected accident or illness resulting in the student's withdrawal from classes. The Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) is a private insurance plan administered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. TRP provides subscribers who withdraw from the University because of a physical accident or illness up to a 100% refund of any tuition and fees payments made directly to Baylor University throughout the semester regardless of the published withdrawal refund schedule and less any refund or credit due from the University. The Plan provides up to a 60% refund for withdrawals due to mental health conditions. Baylor's refund policy is available on the Student Financial Services web page.

Participation in the Dewar Tuition Refund Plan is completely voluntary and represents a contract between the student and the Dewar Company. The annual premium for 2013-2014 is $316 for a full-time on-campus resident (tuition and fees plus room) and $271 for a full-time off-campus student. Only tuition and fees billed by Baylor are included in the plan. Please note that students studying abroad or with a pre-existing health concern are eligible to enroll.

After reading the coverage section thoroughly, if you are interested in purchasing the plan online, please submit the application before August 26, 2013, the first class day. Applications cannot be accepted on or after this date. Any questions about the coverage should be addressed to Mr. John M. Strain of A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at (617) 774-1555.

We offer this as a service to our students and their families and hope that this information is helpful to your planning.
