| With the current level of education costs, we are concerned for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave the University before the semester is completed. In many instances it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of the semester's costs. The University of Vermont has arranged with A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. to offer the Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.) to our students and parents to minimize the financial portion of the loss. This elective program provides full coverage for tuition, required fees, room and board charges. This Plan extends and enhances the University's published refund policy. In the event of a medical/physical withdrawal, you are assured of a 100% refund throughout the term even after the University's own refund policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. In effect, you will not have to pay to repeat lost education. The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan complements our refund schedule for tuition, fees, room and board. |

| Note: For medical/psychological withdrawals, the Tuition Refund Plan pays 60% of costs insured. We are providing the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents and we strongly urge you to consider the benefits of participating. Those who wish to participate online must submit their application before August 31, 2009. Online applications submitted on or after August 31, 2009 cannot be accepted.
