All Carleton Parents and Students:

The Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) is a program offered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc.

This is a private insurance program that supplements Carleton's refund policy by providing a refund of 80% of tuition, fees, and applicable room and board charges if, due to illness, accident, or mental health condition, a student takes a leave of absence or withdraws after the beginning of a term.

Dewar's TRP extends and works in concert with the Carleton College refund policy as published in the College catalog. Subscribers are provided an 80% refund throughout the term even though Carleton's own refund policy may have expired at the time of withdrawal. The proceeds can be used to pay any Stafford or other educational loan in the event the student withdraws or the money may simply be refunded to the family.

Participation in the Tuition Refund Plan offered by A.W.G. Dewar is entirely optional and Carleton's refund program is applicable whether or not you enroll in this refund plan. Carleton College does not endorse this or any other private tuition insurance program, but we invite you to read the coverage section and consider the suitability of TRP for you.

If you are interested in participating in the Dewar Plan online, you must submit your application and payment prior to September 14, 2015. Applications cannot be accepted on or after that date. If you have questions about the plan, please address them to A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., (617) 774-1555.
