Williams College

July 15, 2013

Dear Parents and Students:
Given the substantial financial commitments that students and their families must make to underwrite a course of study at Williams, we are actively engaged in finding ways to protect the financial investment of Williams families. Of particular concern are those students who, through illness or accident, may be required to leave school in the middle of a semester, with a subsequent loss of funds already invested in that semesterís fees. Accordingly, Williams offers an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) through A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., as a way of protecting that investment at a reasonable cost to parents.

This is a private insurance program that supplements the Williams refund policy as published in the College catalogue. Subscribers are assured a refund throughout the term, even though Williamsí own refund policy may have expired at the time of withdrawal. All medical withdrawals are insured equally at 85% of the costs.

We strongly encourage you to read the coverage section carefully and assess the planís suitability for your needs. If you wish to participate online, you must submit the application before the first day of classes, September 4, 2013. Applications cannot be accepted on or after this date. Please note that if a student studies away at a program not administered by Williams College this TRP policy is not in force. Alternative arrangements may be made for coverage during that semester through Dewar.

If you have any questions about the Tuition Refund Plan, please contact John M. Strain at Dewar, (617) 774-1555.
