| We are pleased to inform you that Brown University has arranged with A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. to offer the Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.) to our students and parents to minimize the financial portion of losses incurred when a student suffers a serious illness (physical or psychological) or accident and has to leave Brown before the semester is completed. This elective insurance program provides coverage for tuition, room, and fees (health services and student activity). This is a private insurance program that extends and enhances Brown University's published refund policy. Subscribers are assured an 85% refund throughout the term, even though Brown's refund policy may have expired at the time of withdrawal. This can be especially beneficial when a student is forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan complements Brown's own refund schedule for tuition, room, and related fees. |

| *Room: After week 4 the University does not refund any portion of the room charge. However, as with tuition and fees, the Dewar Tuition Refund Plan will cover the portion of room charges not refunded by the University up to 85% of the full charge. Participation in the Dewar Tuition Refund Plan is entirely optional. Please read the coverage section and consider the suitability of the program for you. If you wish to participate online, you must submit your application and payment before the opening day of classes, September 1, 2010.
