Dear Occidental Students and Parents:
We are pleased to inform you that Occidental has arranged to offer a voluntary tuition insurance program offered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., of Quincy, Massachusetts. The program is called the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) and significantly extends and enhances the College's refund policy as published in the College Catalog Fees and Expenses section.

The Plan protects your educational investment by reimbursing 75% of tuition, fees, and room and board charges should the student withdraw from Occidental due to a serious illness or accident. The proceeds, after the College's outstanding balance and any financial assistance reimbursements have been processed, would be refunded to the family in the event the student withdraws.

Participation in this Tuition Refund Plan is entirely optional and the College's refund policy is applicable whether or not a student enrolls in the TRP. Occidental does not endorse this or any other private tuition insurance program, but we encourage you to read the coverage section to determine the program's suitability for your individual circumstances.

Should you decide to participate in the TRP online, please submit your application and payment prior to August 27, 2014, the first day of classes, in order to be accepted. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after this date.
