Dear Student and Parents:

With the current level of education costs, we have a concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave Wittenberg before the semester is completed. In many instances it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of the semester's costs.

We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.), which will minimize the financial portion of the loss.

This elective insurance plan provides coverage for tuition, mandatory fees, room and board charges. Room rate coverage is based on the standard double room rate. Adjustments in coverage are not made for variations in the actual dormitory living arrangement. Accordingly, the costs insured for the 2009-2010 academic year are $42,962 for campus residents and $34,190 for students residing off-campus.

This Plan significantly extends and enhances the College's published refund policy. You are assured of a 100% refund throughout the term for a medical/physical withdrawal, even after the College's policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. In effect, you will not have to pay to repeat lost educational credits. The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan complements our refund schedule for tuition costs for a medical/physical withdrawal.

We are providing the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents. It is vital that those who wish to participate online submit the application and premium before the opening date of College. Online applications will not be accepted on or after opening day. If you have any questions about the Plan, please call A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at (617) 774-1555.
