Suffolk University - Undergraduates

Dear Suffolk University Students, Parents, and Guardians:

The current level of higher education costs requires Suffolk students and their families to make a substantial financial commitment. We are concerned with enabling families to protect their financial investment in a Suffolk University education, especially when a student must withdraw during a semester due to a serious illness or accident.

Therefore, we are pleased to advise you of an optional insurance program which extends the University's refund policy as published in the Catalog. This program is known as the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) and is offered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. TRP provides policyholders with a 100% refund of tuition, student activity fee, plus room and board, if applicable, for withdrawals due to a medical/physical illness or accident. TRP refunds 60% of insured fees for withdrawals due to medical/psychological illness.

The table below illustrates how TRP complements Suffolk's refund policy for a withdrawal due to a medical/physical illness or accident:

If you wish to subscribe online to this voluntary insurance program, applications must be submitted before September 8, 2009, the first class day for undergraduates. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after this date. Questions about TRP may be directed to Dewar at (617) 774-1555 or to trp@dewarinsurance.com.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
