Saint Mary's College

Dear Parents:
Due to the increasing cost of education, families have a concern for students who suffer a serious illness or accident and have to leave Saint Mary's before the semester is completed. A student's withdrawal will usually mean a loss of time invested in studies as well as a loss of at least a portion of the semester's fees.

A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. has an insurance program that can minimize the financial portion of this loss. Their insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP), provides coverage for Tuition, Room, Board and Activity Fee which will average $43,440 on the home campus for the 2013-2014 academic year. Please refer to the application section for plan costs. This plan, in combination with the College's refund policy assures you of a 100% refund if the student has to withdraw during the semester (60% through TRP if the withdrawal is due to a mental health condition). The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan works with our refund schedule in regard to Tuition and Fee charges.

We are pleased to recommend the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents. The information concerning this plan should be carefully read to ascertain if the plan is suitable for your needs.

If you wish to participate in this plan online, please submit your application and payment before the first day of classes which begin on August 26, 2013. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after this date. If you have any questions, please call A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at (617) 774-1555.
