Dear Parents and Students:

Bucknell University is pleased to offer an optional service that helps protect you from an unexpected loss of payments made in support of your Bucknell education because of accident or illness. The Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) is a private insurance plan administered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. TRP provides subscribers who withdraw because of accident or illness a 90% refund of any funds paid directly to Bucknell throughout the semester, even if the provisions of Bucknell's refund policy have expired. Bucknell's refund policy is available on the Finance Office web page under Just for Students/Credit and Refund Policies.

Your participation in the Dewar Tuition Refund Plan is completely voluntary. Your participation represents a contract between you and the Dewar Company. Bucknell does not benefit from your participation. The annual premium for 2010-2011 is $471 for a full-time campus resident and $381 for a full-time off-campus student. Students studying abroad are eligible to participate in the program, but only charges billed by Bucknell, such as tuition, are eligible to be included in this plan. It is important to note that students with a pre-existing health concern are eligible to enroll in this plan.

Please read the coverage section thoroughly. If you are interested in purchasing coverage online, please submit the application form. It is important to note that the application must be submitted before August 25, 2010, the first day of classes. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after that date. Any questions about the coverage should be addressed to Mr. John M. Strain of A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at (617) 774-1555.

We offer this as a service to our students and their families and hope that this information is helpful to your planning.

Respectfully Yours,

Accounts Receivable
