Dear UNH Parents and Students,
|We are concerned for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave UNH before the semester is completed. In many instances, it means not only the loss of time invested in studies but, due to the current level of educational costs, a significant financial loss.
UNH is pleased to offer the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) for your consideration. This plan, administered by A.W.G. Dewar of Quincy, Massachusetts, protects your educational investment by reimbursing 75% of tuition, room and board in the event of a medical withdrawal. Refunds may be affected by financial aid award adjustments. This plan significantly extends and enhances the University's published refund policy. You are assured of a refund throughout the term even after the University's own refund policy has expired. The chart below illustrates how the TRP complements our own refund schedule for tuition charges in the case of a withdrawal due to an illness or accident.
|If the Withdrawal|
|Before Classes Begin||100%||0%||100%|
|Balance of semester||0%||75%||75%|
|Please refer to the UNH Catalog regarding the University's room and board refund policies.
The cost of the plan for the academic year is $372.00 for resident students and $262.00 for students living off campus. Students planning to attend a foreign or domestic leave program should contact Dewar for applicable costs. The coverage section describes the plan in detail. Please read it carefully. If you wish to subscribe to the plan online, please submit your application and payment before classes begin on August 27, 2012. Applications cannot be accepted on or after that date.
Questions regarding the plan should be directed to A.W.G. Dewar at (617) 774-1555.
