Dear Student and Parents:
With the current level of education costs, we at Hartwick College are concerned for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident, and has to leave before the semester is completed. In many instances, it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of a half year of costs.

We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.), which will minimize the financial portion of the loss. This elective insurance plan provides coverage for tuition and room for students living on campus, and tuition for those living off campus. Accordingly, the costs insured for the 2014/2015 academic year are $44,940 for on campus students and $39,260 for off campus students.

This plan significantly extends and enhances the College's published refund policy. You are assured of up to a 100% refund throughout the term, even after the College's own refund policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. In effect, you will not have to pay to repeat lost education. Please refer to the refund policy listed in the College Catalog or online at the Student Accounts' website.

Note: For mental health withdrawals, the T.R.P. pays up to 60% of costs insured.

The cost of this plan for the academic year is $337 for on campus students and $294 for off campus students. The coverage section describes the plan in detail. Please read it carefully. If you wish to subscribe to the plan online, please submit your application and payment before September 2, 2014, the first day of class. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after this day.
