To Our Students and Parents: |
We are pleased to advise you of an innovative insurance program being offered through the University, the Tuition Refund Plan, which will, in case of a serious illness or an accident involving the student, assist in minimizing the financial portion of the loss. This elective insurance plan provides coverage for the comprehensive tuition and fee charges. A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. offers this Plan, underwritten by the OneBeacon Insurance Group, at a cost of $344 for campus residents or students enrolled in affiliated foreign programs and $234 for students living off campus.
This Plan significantly extends and enhances the University’s published refund policy. You are eligible for a 100% refund throughout the term, even after the University’s policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when a student is forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. In effect, you will not have to pay to repeat lost education credits. For medical/physical withdrawals, the Tuition Refund Plan complements our refund schedule for tuition and standard room charges as follows:

Students who are approved to move out of University housing after the last date to add classes each semester will receive a refund for a prorated portion of the board charges only up to the twelfth week of the semester.
Note: For medical/psychological withdrawals, the Tuition Refund Plan pays up to 60% of costs insured.
Refunds for students receiving Title IV financial aid will be calculated in accordance with federal guidelines. Please refer to the University’s catalog for complete details.
We are providing the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents. It is important that those who wish to participate online submit the application and premium before the University’s opening day of classes, Monday, August 30, 2010. Applications cannot be accepted on or after the opening date. Please direct any questions to A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at 617-774-1555.
Sincerely yours,
Cashier's Office Marywood University
