Georgetown Law

Summer 2019

Dear Georgetown Law Students and Parents:

All of us at Georgetown Law, and especially those of us who advise students and their families, are concerned about students who suffer serious illness or accidents that require them to leave the University before the semester is completed. In many instances, these emergencies can lead to a disruption not only of coursework but also a loss of thousands of dollars in tuition. It is important to the school to take reasonable steps to help students and their families prevent such losses.

To that end, we continue to partner with A.W.G Dewar, Inc. to administer the Tuition Refund Plan ("Plan"), which complements and enhances the University's published tuition refund policy. If you must withdraw mid-semester for a medical reason, the Plan provides up to an 85% refund of the tuition paid for that semester, less any tuition refund due you from the University under the University's tuition refund policy. Please note that the University tuition refund policy, as well as the Plan, applies to complete withdrawals only, not withdrawals from individual courses. Participation in the Plan is voluntary and represents a contract between the student and A.W.G. Dewar, Inc.

We are providing plan information and an application for your careful review. If you wish to participate in the plan online, please submit your application and payment by May 23, 2019.

Please contact DEWAR directly at (617) 774-1555 or email, if you have any questions regarding the Tuition Refund Plan.
