To Our Students and Families:

With education costs increasing, there is a concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave the University before the semester is completed. In many instances, it means not only the loss of time invested in studies but also the loss of the semester's costs.

We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP), which will minimize the financial portion of the loss. This elective insurance plan provides coverage for tuition, room and board charges. Accordingly, the costs insured for the 2015-2016 academic year average $61,775.

This Plan extends and enhances the University's published refund policy. You are assured of a 75% refund throughout the term whether the withdrawal is due to a physical or mental health condition. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan complements our refund schedule for tuition charges.

First day to end of Semester Pro-Rated Tuition, Room & Board 75%, less UND refund 75% minimum

We are pleased to recommend the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students and parents. We suggest that you carefully read the coverage section concerning the Plan. It is vital that those who wish to participate online submit the application and payment before the opening date of school. Online applications cannot be accepted on or after this date.
