To Parents, Guardians and Students:
|With the current level of education costs, we have a concern for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave Marietta College before the semester is completed. In many instances it means not only the loss of time invested in studies, but also the loss of the semester's costs.
We are pleased to advise you of an insurance program, the Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.), which will minimize the financial portion of the loss.
This elective insurance plan provides coverage for Tuition, Student Fee, plus Board and Room, if applicable. The cost to participate for the 2016-2017 academic year is $451.00 for students living on campus in suites or apartments, $439.00 for students living on campus in a traditional double, and $333.00 for students living off campus.
The Tuition Refund Plan complements Marietta College's published refund policy. You are eligible for an 80% refund throughout the term for a medical withdrawal even after Marietta College's policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when you are forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. The chart below illustrates how the Tuition Refund Plan complements our refund schedules for tuition costs. (See College catalog for College's refund share for room and board charges.)

|We are providing the Tuition Refund Plan as an option for students, parents and guardians to protect tuition and fees. Those who wish to participate online must submit the application and premium by the opening date of classes, August 29, 2016. Online applications will not be accepted after opening day. Students participating in January or Summer Off Campus study programs, please contact Dewar to determine eligibility and cost for coverage. Questions about the coverage should be directed to A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at 617-774-1555.
